Instead of binding the nations, the virus, as with everything else, has served as a political obstacle.

If someone wants to use the virus to further political means;
Then one MUST ask "Who benefits from the virus?"

It's important to ask that question, because those who would use the virus to further political aims may potentially be culpable in it's cause and spread.
