All human being need physical affection and some companionship and love. Need to be touched by other humans affectionally.
We know from studies in eastern Europe orphanages the deprivation of human contact and normal human affection had profound psychological consequences for numerous orphans!
A normal healthy sex life, is the glue that binds marriage. And a normal healthy sexual release is part of normal healthy living.
Just go to any elderly nuns retirement home if only to understand the various psychosis caused by imposed abnormal celibacy.
Masturbation is normal and essential for normal psychological well being in all human beings where no partner sexual relationship is possible. And is no different for anyone regardless of age, infirmity or disability!
That said, those unable to give informed consent need to be protected from those who are so psychologically damaged, (animalistic) they would betray their trust!
To conclude, absolutely agree that there is a case for consensual, informed, sex therapy, in NDIS!
