South Australia’s water problem : Comments

By David Leyonhjelm, published 5/6/2019

Obviously it would cost money and it’s likely the Commonwealth would have to assist the state government, which is seriously indebted.

Yes, any affordable cost-effective solution is going to cost money!

And only necessary because the former Labor government was too weak-kneed to jus do the job the taxpayer pays it for, govern!

The only affordable solution that absolutely guarantees affordable cost-effective water is, deionisation dialysis desalination. Moreover, not one tied by the testicles to unaffordable renewable energy, but rather powered by MSR and using nuclear waste other nations will pay annual billions for us to, N.B. thoughtfully dispose of!

As we do, by first burning all the massive megawatts of unspent energy in this (nuclear waste) product, in complete, walk away safety, we will reduce the half-life to just 300 years. And as a service provider have someone else pay us for this service.

And given MSR thorium, in complete walk away safety and given nuclear waste is used as the primary fuel? At power prices of less than a cent PKWH!

To encapsulate, desalination that already costs a quarter of reverse osmosis and coupled to power prices one 24th at least, of current charges!

So, what crimson fools would refuse that outcome and have other folks pay the entire construction R+D phase tab?

You guessed it, our Federal politicians and their equally gormless S.A. counterparts, with a little help from activists and trembling in timid trepidation, politicians, who don't know their ass from their elbow in relation to MODERN nuclear energy options and how to guarantee, able to be done in complete safety and at the aforementioned affordable prices!

And if rolled out as facilitated and funded, COMPETING FOR YOUR BUSINESS, employee OWNED AND OPERATED, co-ops (free market, private enterprise) able to exclude union involvement entirely and at power prices less than that of the Sovietized (socialized) model! SOME ENTIRELY INDIGENOUS!?

Moreover, the cooperative capitalism model, as envisaged, also ensures all the available profits and tax liability stay here working for us and in a paradigm that makes one dollar do the economic work of at least seven! YOU DON'T WANT?
