this is really good you got clean and got away. good luck. meanwhile I am out there too. my family are quite rich and don't accept me at all. due to culture and discrimination, I've had much financial hardships in life, and my family are of no help whatsoever, despite my brother joining their multi-million dollar turnover lifting equipment and materials handling business. they live in one of the best neighborhoods of the city and have luxury cars, stay in 5* hotels but are morally and spiritually bankrupt, but my mother though claims to be religious and when pressed for detail becomes hostile and defensive about her religious interests. there is much hypocrisy among religious folk. i've met those who've tried to change me, so stopped seeing them--they have helped people through their networks into good jobs--but only if you're one of them and not an outsider or someone different. our labor market is at its most hostile to social minority groups who are almost often excluded from opportunities of prosperity.

money's not everything but how many of even christians enjoy rewarding careers, escalating wealth etc. religion has become a multi-million industry with the prosperity gospel being perfectly made to order, just like food in the drive-thru.
