By Binoy Kampmark, published 19/12/2018If there is a good reason to be suspicious of a second referendum, former Prime Minister Tony Blair's endorsement of it would be one.

The UK should simply unilaterally declare they are divorced as of this minute from the EU.
They should confiscate all EU property in the country, threaten to confiscate all EU citizen held property in the country, if the EU want to play hard ball. It wouldn't take very long for all the French who depend on supplying the UK for their living to don their yellow jackets & move their protests to Brussels. It really is time for a cultural revolution Chinese style in the west. Posted by Hasbeen, Wednesday, 19 December 2018 10:06:56 AM

Brexit Betrayal March
http://youtu.be/NxiLCF6fJqc The problem in England is the same as in France. Our nations leaders are SNAKE-OIL SALESMEN for Globalism. That's why Macron tried to do deals and buy the people off instead of simply putting them first. Posted by Armchair Critic, Wednesday, 19 December 2018 10:18:50 AM

Come on Aidan are you still living on that planet out Mars way?
The rights of the UK have been getting trampled by that bunch of bureaucrats in Brussels for years, & they want more billions before they will let go of their cash cow. The only way to treat people like that is to take them head on, & trample them in return. Time to grow up a bit, & do a bit of reading. You might just manage to come back to earth, with a bit more knowledge. Posted by Hasbeen, Wednesday, 19 December 2018 10:33:41 AM

Could it be very few thought the first vote would succeed so did nothing to make sure it would fail, there has been an article suggesting the remainer don't bother voting because any new vote will be rigged to stay.
___________________________________________________________ Christmas pay rise means EU chiefs make UK average annual wage every month. The monthly paychecks of EU chiefs Jean-Claude Juncker and Donald Tusk are close to the average yearly salary for British workers, it has been revealed. The presidents of the European commission and European council are now receiving ($37,000) each month after receiving a £495-a-month pay rise backdated to July 2018. The average annual wage in the UK in 2018 is £29,500, according to the Office for National Statistics. Juncker and Tusk’s annual pay of £352,800 is also more than double that of UK prime minister Theresa May, who made £150,400 last year. The pay of the EU’s top brass is calculated automatically by the EU’s statistics authority based on the cost of living in Belgium and Luxembourg and the salaries of civil servants across member states. That meant an across the board increase for top EU officials of 1.7% in 2018 – up from 1.5% in 2017, revealed German newspaper Bild. The European commission’s six vice-presidents have seen their monthly salary go up by £450 to almost £27,700. The other 22 commissioners, including Britain’s Julian King, are receiving an extra £395, which takes their monthly salaries to around £23,900. Top EU officials who run the various departments of the commission are now receiving more than €20,000-a-month (£17,991) for the first time. A second referendum possibly the only way, other than a general election to resolve this issue.
And with it resolved and the will of all the people known? Nominate Boris Johnson as a Special Envoy, with the power to negotiate a better deal and one the entire parliament should be allowed a (secret ballot) conscience vote to ratify it? Alan B. The EU made it clear that it was going to punish the UK for leaving. Given that the UK is the second largest economy in the EU and that a hard brexit would be also be a disaster for the EU, deliberately negotiating in bad faith should be considered a stupid move.
May, should simply begin negotiating free trade agreements with the US/Canada/mexico,Australia/NZ etc and let the EU come back to the bargaining table. Posted by Shadow Minister, Thursday, 20 December 2018 10:00:04 AM

Shadow Minister I don't think she can until they are out of EU, there was something a month or so ago with regard to trump and not being allowed to make agreements

I would be very surprised if a number of countries have not already
been having talks on the QT with Britain. The travel allowances of Australian trade bureaucrats might make interesting reading. Posted by Bazz, Friday, 21 December 2018 3:58:13 PM

If a second referendum voted remain the ardent leavers could make the UK ungovernable. Former British colonies like Australia and Canada with fabulous resources are there to help out Old Blighty if there is a hard Brexit.
