Powell was right in essence about the direction and results of Britain's (and the West's) insane immigration policies but even he couldn't foresee just how terrible things would become. Had he said things back then that we now know to be true, he'd have been placed in a padded cell.

He talked of blood letting (he never actually said "Rivers of Blood") but thought in terms of Britains fighting back against the slow invasion and civil war. Little did he know that the blood letting would be done by the immigrants with the British people meekly turning the other cheek and apologising.

Had Powell told his listeners that within 50 years, native born Britains would be a minority in the nation's capital, he'd have been laughed off stage. But it happened and now its basically illegal to mention it as a problem.

We look back at Cicero's warnings against Caesar or Demosthenes' warnings against Philip and wonder why the people and the powerful ignored them and how disastrous ignoring the warnings became. Powell is in the same league.
