Oil market fears: war, default and nuclear weapons : Comments

By Nicholas Cunningham, published 5/3/2018

The US is one of the few areas of the world in which there is an energy investment boom underway, a development that could smooth out the uncertainties of geopolitical events around the world.

Russia is the largest oil producer in the world? Arguably has the highest production costs and relies more heavily on its exports for its economic well being! Because this is so? Has the most to lose as the world seeks alternatives and energy independence!

Moreover, in Putin's Russia it's reportedly, not too rosy at the moment with the gap between the better off and the poor widening with less of the former, as the oil oligarchs like Putin assemble massive personal wealth and the power of money? Acquiring more and more of that nation's finite wealth!?

And now threatens economic mayhem, a new cold war replete with a new arms race and the junking of the non proliferation treaty! With just a few dreamers still clinging to it and looking for an umbrella to protect/defend them? When the only defense in prospect is an ability to retaliate!

We who own 40% of the world's total uranium reserves and inventor of the much more efficient method of pulsed laser light enrichment! Could respond in a few months if we set about assembling the necessary nuclear logistics, now today and without delay!

We could even build 50-60 or more, fusion bombs, with what we have now and use them in covertly deployed smart bombs, as tactical nuclear weapons over military targets and essential infrastructure? Assuming a need and an ability to retaliate, as the only real and effective deterrent!

We should also consider buying a dozen nuclear powered subs off the shelf from our largest ally along with an arsenal of around fifty older nuclear missiles per boat, as a short gap measure to create our own deployable nuclear deterrent? If Russia thinks that attacking one of America's allies would be a useful tactic?

And Donald would do that (hire purchase) deal! Because we're currently not nuclear capable, unable to respond and consequently not much of an ally and all but defenseless!

Oil has been weaponized for many decades and for a whole host of reasons which peace freaks and dreamers simply chose to ignore! And at our peril! TBC.

We heard on A.M. this morning from a few farmers on generational farms, who shared their impeccable generational records with us! To inform us those records showed? A decades long warming trend that has averaged 0.8C upwards a decade since around, 1985. And as a total increase during the referenced period, of 2.8C to date?

With lower rainfall, shorter growing periods and earlier harvests imposed on their management strategies!

A 2.8C increase, if applicable to the globe's median average ambient temperature, would mean we've already traversed a tipping point from which there's no return, yet here we see the denialists continuing to promote, use and export, carbon polluting fossil fuels!

Almost as if there were viable alternative and no tomorrow? Or they don't care?

When the ultimate goal for Vladimir and Donald, is to win a contest to be the personally wealthiest man in the graveyard? Soon to be our home!

If you can't beat em join em, in this self destructive planet destroying madness!

And all too easy, when all the is required is a fixed ear to ear smile, ear plugs and blinkers; and ignoring all the irrefutable and compelling empirical evidence!

If we are going to trash the joint? Let's do a proper job! No half measures!

And leave no stone standing on any other stone!

Perhaps when the peaceniks get armed and all gung ho? Some of the cage rattling sabre rattling moral and emotional blackmailers, might just think, hey this has gone way too far, is effing serious and needs backing away from!

UNDERSTAND YET?

We know from past hardwon experience is that all that appeasement ever achieved, was to make the war threatening, territory annexing mad men, even bolder and more demanding and should have had something very different served up to them, with united implacable resolve!

And probably too difficult and too big a task, when for political expediency only! We've been far too successful in dividing the nation and brother against brother, father against son, mother against daughter, the poor and downtrodden against each other etc/etc!

Apologies and correction. In my first comment on this thread, I said one of the interviewed Farmer's records showed a local total temperature of 2.8C.

That's is not what the Farmer said, what he said was 2.4C! As the increase in local ambient temperatures over three decades, since around 1985.
Sorry, Alan B.
