Wow, what a big problem work stress is these days.
It looks the politicians have to do whatever they can so that the average person works on their own property, around people they know and care about.

Of the 49%.... how many are govt employees.
So in the ranks of the unemployed 'stress' experienced in not finding a job.
What Australia needs is a fair dinkum Depression, cos it doesn't look as though the wake up call is being noticed....call?....call?, just remembered I have to go buy the latest iphone cos when my mother calls I'm not getting the crystal clear clarity, and resonance, of her voice as well as I would with the new iphone.

Depends on your level of desperation.

"Work expresses our humanity, enriching us as social individuals, making us human."

Well, that is just the writer's opinion and it is not necessarily so. I suggest that anyone thinking that way does not have a lot going for them in their private lives. I have been retired for 18 years, and they have been the best years of my life. Work, for me, was always a drudgery and I hated it. Work is necessary, not for pleasure.

G'day Special delivery. No i'm not sure how many of the 49% are public servants, but they're one group who 've copped a fair bit of stress.

Constant job losses, a protracted negotiation for a wage rise, which turned out as miniscule, compounded by the stress all workers experience due to having no control over your work, means a fair few public servants would experience work place stress.
