Philip S, could be except that I have seen that sort of comment in
several different articles over a couple of years along the same line.
Another article I read recently gave a calculation to how much power
you would consume with a high grade PC to run the mining program for
the time to produce a certain amount of bit coin.

It was uneconomic with normal PCs unless you had very very cheap electricity.
However none of that will matter if IBM can build working
quantam computers.
They are really weird stuff where bits can be 1 & 0 at the same time !
Programming them sounds like a nightmare !
