By Murray Hunter, published 16/11/2017

Paradoxically, every prime minister supported to various degrees, the development of uranium mining and export as an economic driver.

With nut case regimes like North Korea around, and the arrogance of China, we need to look at all options. Unfortunately, the Turnbull government and the people supposed to be running the ADF don't want to talk about such things. The generals are tied up with gender reassignment, and the government thinks that fake marriage for homosexuals is their greatest achievement.

We do need to look at all options, including a preferred delivery system that incorporates local innovation.

Which would likely be scram jet powered, very long range delivery systems, which we could point southward and get them in the air with the assistance of a rail gun catapult.

Once airborne, have an ion drive in the nose cone punch a tiny friction and fuel reducing hole in the atmosphere just ahead of the plane.

Friction, all that prevents a very lean burn mach 10 or 15?

Leading edges could be protected via titanium ceramics, we could make using 3D printers.

All the above doable here and with existing homegrown technology!

The delivery platform would be a delta shaped, large and very fast swept wing, copper plated, carbon fibre, stealth bomber capable of carrying a couple of cruise missiles, within effective range of the target and from where least expected and out of sight of radar etc.

And due to the fact they'd approach the intended recipient from the north pole after flying over a very large ocean at great height from their blindside, from the south pole initially?

Least expected least prepared for?

With the missiles aimed, armed and launched, turn tail and head for home, still from the opponent's (undefended) blind side!?

As remotely controlled or Autonomous, capable of manoeuvres, that would kill any human aircrew!

Remote control, though subject to possible electronic detection, would allow mission abort command to be initiated!

The ion stream will be augmented with a hydrogen film from the nose decreasing the air-viscosity resistance. Negative ion generators under the space-craft will surmount a lower generator charged positively . The vehicle will hover on top of its transparent positive-ion bubble . However a payload launch from the north will be expected and detour around Tibet up the Ganges river via north China desert is the correct flight path. Coal dust is excellent for stealth radar-cover and makes a smoke screen against duck-shooters on the Yangtse river.

Having been interested in nuclear energy, I haven't heard a single politician express the desire to attain nuclear weapons. I believe the entire basis for this article is pure fantasy.

When the Adelaide Darwin rail is replaced by high speed , the old rail can be lifted in the north to make a rail gun with solar panels along the length . Thorium has produced a 22kiloton explosion and rail passes for pensioners have long been used on the Ghan rail.
