Time to kick Turkey out of NATO : Comments
By Alon Ben-Meir, published 10/11/2017It is sadder than sad that the US and the EU have largely left Turkey's President Erdogan free to crush not only free press, but also freedom of speech and peaceful demonstrations.

Does an Islamic extremist dictator deserve to be in NATO? I think not.

Kicking him and or Turkey out of NATO will send him/Turkey and the largest standing Army in Europe, straight into the arms of Russia! Along with a arsenal containing around fifty thermonuclear war heads!
Are you mad!? A covert operation that culminated in a entirely unexpected surgical removal, makes much more sense and can be blamed on ISIS or Alqida etc/etc. Alan B. Posted by Alan B., Friday, 10 November 2017 11:46:56 AM

Oh when, Oh when, Oh when;
Will authors write honest stories? There's two sides of the coin here and people better bloody wake up, and see both sides. - LIKE SERIOUSLY... It's a tactic to delegitimise a democratically elected leader as part of a regime change operation. 1. Organise civil society groups to mass protest 2. Organise civil society groups to cause violence against government entities, forcing a 'Government crackdown response'. 3. Use the 'so-called Free Press' to broadcast the governments 'Crackdown' actions to further delegitimise the incumbent government. 4. Government then moves to crackdown on the 'so-called free press' which is then twisted by the same 'so-called free press' to further delegitimise that leader by labeling them as 'undemocratic and authoritarian'. It's not about 'Free Press' at all. This is about using 'so-called free press' as agent provocateurs to support regime change operations. Look up Operation Mockingbird. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Mockingbird Look up CIA paid Washington Post 600 million. http://www.wnd.com/2017/06/jeff-bezos-amazon-washington-post-and-the-cia/ And now stop being so damned naive. I don't necessarily have any issues with a democratically elected leader taking steps to silence journalists under the right circumstances. Was the journalist covering the right or wrong story, that's the real issue here. Were they actually 'free-press', or 'foreign operative' posing as such? And in spite of all you highlight, Turkey is still a great destination for a pleasant holiday. Posted by diver dan, Tuesday, 14 November 2017 8:01:25 AM

I'm sure it's got plenty going for it, my great grandfather wouldn't have been so keen to be there that he was charging up the hill on his horse when he arrived otherwise; when he went there oh - about 100years ago...

Must be wonderful living in a perfect country that has no social problems that would otherwise deflect an opinion or two about other lands and their leaders.
It would seem that the only problem affecting Australians currently would be what beer their dual citizenship politicians prefer and whether SSM is going to advance their economy and keep interest rates low. A country that can't even make up it's mind as to whether possessing non requested British citizenship constitutes dual citizenship and yet having no problem with who should or should not be in NATO. A people so feeble minded as to think the quality of an idea rests with citizenship and not on merit. Now some might refer to this attitude as Jingoism whereas I see it as nobodies trying desperately to be considered as somebody, pontificating about nothing important. Well said . Australian voters are American and identify with Hillary or Trump. Turnbull says we are dual American citizens and will probably spend $ 150mill to get Australians on the US electoral rolls for 2020 campaign , having lost interest in being British. Coal, guns, immigration , gays and fake emails will fill in time until then.
