Well said colinsett. At least we have onlineopinion presenting opportunity. I'd be no where without at least this talkfeast to help counter-act theirs, theirs or even theirs...!
And Scott - tell us more ? "What I do not understand is why this ... 'star chamber' is rarely mentioned or discussed in the mainstream media. " Are there link stories and what do you think about the new effort on Clinton's group. The $55 million fund etc Also if anyone is interested there is a 'Global Deliberative Dialogue on Internet Governance thats presently underway where participants from all over the world are engaing in this stimulating discussion'. This I think was connected to clauses in the Seoul UN Declaration and is a preperation for the "WORLD SUMMIT ON INFORMATION SOCIETY". I maybe isolated from here in Cape York - Australia, but I am watching these initatives influence at least one young and interesting person like - Mohammad Ziaul Ahsan from Bangladesh - you can find his weblink on miacat.com and how these project resources potentially add up for at least some, who are pushing for hard change, from low resourced regions. I wish Australia would truly get onboard. Once you see Ziauls work - you realise the value of social capital and how encouragement is everything, no matter how small or isolated the situation may be. Also for interest is there anyone interested in discussing with me - things we might be able to do with the UN - Brisbane "Engaging Communities" Declaration - August 2005. You will also find the links and what occurred from the front page of www.miacat.com. I fear it will be just another document unless we make it something viable - I feel it is a very useful document for Australia and from Australia... I see possiblities in the greater picture - please tell me if you can see anything in it or otherwise why not? The Global Deliberative Dialogue on Internet Governance weblink for the Information Society Summit is; http://www.webdialogues.net/cs/dialogue-wgig-home/view/di/70?x-t=home.view Otherwise linked from miacat - hope to see you there. www.miacat.com Posted by miacat, Friday, 23 September 2005 2:34:49 PM

The only thing that should be Pre-emptive is the Abolition of the UN, which is: "Un-united Nincopoops", very expencive elite nincompoops. Just another corrupt Leftoid haven to steal your Money,. as they would never survive in the real world.

I wonder what would please All? I wonder if All has any thoughts on how we could all influence the "elite nincompoops".
How can we protest constructively against the "Leftoid haven", or do you have us (who might try) just forget the whole thing, by prefering us instead to condone the kind of business deals like say; the $11million rip-off scams coming out of Nigeria and Ghana? Just interested All? Posted by miacat, Sunday, 2 October 2005 5:33:39 PM

The answers some look fore are not there. Posted by All-, Monday, 3 October 2005 4:32:35 AM

This is what Your Elected Elites have been up to in the last 40 odd years, signing away your National Rights and Soverignty, Much like Multiculturalism, they never had a mandate nor permission from the Constituents. There are millions of articles and the attempt of Global dommination by this very vehicle UN, so read alot more and be on your Guard, not just theory, it is FACT. Thanks to a psychopathic Left and Fifth column, Wakey wakey. Posted by All-, Monday, 3 October 2005 4:50:49 AM

In establishing a "responsibility to protect" there is need to look, not only at where elements of the human herd are in relation to each other, but also at the human herd's relationship to the paddock. And prospects for our paddock are even more alarming than the individual disparities.
For two million years, the genus Homo developed in harmony with the drift of ecological balance. Only 10,000 years ago, with the advent of agriculture, did Homo as "sapiens", become a significant driver of change. The rate of such change gradually became more significant, until two centuries ago. Then we rubbed the magic lamp of fossil fuel. What a genie arose from it!
With the genie's assistance, Homo sapiens has proliferated from one billion to 2.5 billion in a mere one and a half centuries. But in just the last half century we have increased from 2.5 to 6.5 billion, assisted by modern medicine's interruption of normal death rates.
Now the genie is running out of puff: Cheap fossil fuels are in terminal decline; we face the prospect of paying for their pollution; and technology providing for our lifestyles has, predominantly, facilitated degradation of natural resources.
The reality of humanity's selfish predaton upon the environment which sustains it fundamentally constrains what we might wish for in establishing a "responsibility to protect."
At the 1992 conference in Rio the world said good words about what we would like to achieve. In 1994 in Cairo, world leaders came together making firm commitments for action towards such achievments. No adequate implementation of these has taken place. Rather, we have returned to feel-good talk-fests. As a result, apartheid between the affluent and the desperate across the world has flourished, accompanied by criminal inhumanity. Post-hoc bandaids are sad responses to the problem of a continuously expanding species.
