A Brexit World? EU plus One : Comments

By Vince Hooper, published 4/9/2017

This can hardly be considered to be a divorce. Britain and the EU do not have any children to care for. Indeed an EU+1 will be stronger than the current situation.

In this author we have another dual citizen: "British/Australian" writing about a subject that hasn't been of much interest in Australia since Britain did the dirty on the Commonwealth by snuggling up to Europeans they don't even like.

North Korea has invested in heroin in the ship Pong Su.
Britain has heroes in aircraft carrier QE. DPRK will cut costs by missile freight. Over the course of the current decade, the UK has further consolidated its position as Australia’s second most significant source of FDI, second only to the United States. The four-year growth to 2014 was a substantial 62.8% increase, up from $53.7b in 2010 to $87.4b in 2014.

Leave Mrs May alone? Why? Is she easier to control by the usual, behind the scenes, vested interest/manipulators?

This looks like one of those issues that cannot be settled without revisiting the people, with another, are you sure this is what you really really want, referendum?

Without which, this issue could drag on unresolved for years, and potentially divide the UK, leaving the nucleus, virtually bankrupt and going backwards?

How dumb would that be?

How does it go? You can always tell a pom, but you can't tell him very much.

They'll go their own way, even if it's from the frying pan into the fire!

Jeez, more "we-won-the-war" nonsense. The US and the USSR won WW2.

After all the posturing, chest thumping and post-imperial fantasies, a genuine Brexit will never occur. The U.K. has nowhere else to go.

NNN, and sorry for going completely off topic! There's a practise, we're told, of burying Kiwis in 8 feet deep graves, usually (hopefully occasionally) after they've tottered of the mortal coil? Given deep deep down, they're really nice people.

That said, you seem a little confused old son? Do a 180 and head north! Britain is at the other end of the planet, and last time I looked, there weren't too many Kiwis/fellow Anzacs in the british parliament?

Beehive yourself! Stop it you'll go blind, or has that happened already? Which may have seen you board the wrong flight? And in the wrong Parliament! And your understandable confusion? Particularly with the New Zillend eksents?

Q: Incidentally, how do we know class clown Nick is on the level?
A: He dibbles equally out of both sides of his mouth!

You'll have a nice day now y'hear.

When the Huns threw in the towel the Yank NeoCons and CIA, both enemies of democracy, were confronted by the spectre of democracy breaking out all over Europe. Their own Constitution contains curbs on democracy, and they moved in to create a European Union to make sure the people of every nation in Europe were beholden to outsiders to limit their self-government.

The UK Tories put exiting the EU to a referendum and to their amazement a 1,700,000-vote majority voted to leave. Since then they have stalled the process in a long drawn out "negotiation" to protect the interests of the City of London spivocracy in continuing to share the EU's trade protectionism as their European competitors make life hard for them.

The spivs are running a rearguard campaign to weasel out of the voters' decision to opt for British national independence and accept instead eating crow before their European spiv competitors.

They have as their outspoken ally the lying war criminal Tony Blair.
