The recent attack on the Syria by the U.S is a pretty strange way of showing that Trump is “aligned” with the Assad regime! It rather indicates the opposite: that he is aligned with the Islamist 'rebels', but that is also too silly to be uttered. Trump, or anybody with any sense, would be hoping like hell that the Syrians fight each other to exhaustion. Syria is the epitome of everything that is wrong with Islam and the non-Western world; it should be left alone, islolated, to wipe itself out.

Given the poor record of all the combatants in Syria, the Allies are only focussing on the very worst i.e. ISIS. While we all despise Assad, the chances are that whoever replaces him will be no better.
