So the first question for your proposals is, as always: where will the money come from? The second question is: can you clearly demonstrate that the risk-adjusted rate of return from these projects will meet the opportunity costs - the highest RA RoR from alternative uses of funds, which, given the state of government in Queensland, would usually be for tax cuts rather than government projects.

runner, I think that it's a long time since university expansion passed the point of marginal utility falling to zero, I'd wind back government funding severely and leave the bulk of unis to live or die through private markets. There are visionaries and innovators in Australia but they are held back and even suppressed by know it all BS advisors and political crony, tall poppy syndrome knockers and fools.
