By Alon Ben-Meir, published 4/4/2017

The issue over which all the players have collective concern is the defeat of ISIS. But what is the end-game in Syria post-ISIS?

This author pretty well explains why peace in Syria, will at best ever be tenuous: at worst be virtually endless...

China's recent involvement in Syria isn't mentioned in this article, interestingly.
The U.S. Should now pack its bags and leave the scene, as its opposition is more and more resembling that of the Vietnam war, with its humiliating loss against these two main contenders, Russia and China.

Much more sensible for it to open a front in conjunction with the Japanese, and fight a niggling war with China, inclusive of the South China Sea.
This will prove distracting to China, and will force its hand in negotiating with Russia for support; hopefully weakening resolve in the Middle East, allowing U S allies to take a more responsible role.

This would be an ideal moment to slap-up China, repaying China with humiliation over U.S. Losses in Vietnam! A great start for US morale sadly lacking at home

The claim that the war in Syria is a civil war is a BLATANT LIE peddled by western powers and their mainstream media. Was started with them covertly creating unrest which Syrian government needed to clamp down on. Then continued with foreign agencies, particularly from the US covertly sponsoring mercenary terrorists in a proxy war with the aim of replacing the secular and relatively democratic legitimate Syrian government with puppets and stooges sympathetic to western interests rather than those of the Syrian people. Particularly to build a pipeline to carry Qatari gas south-north across Syria to Turkey and then to Europe. The Syrian government is more likely to support an east west pipeline across Syria to allow Iranian gas to be sold their instead. A horrifying prospect to some western governments and gas companies.

Russian intervention to help the Syrian government exposed what had been really been going on. The "US led coalition" was largely pretending to fight terrorists that it had effectively been the main sponsors of.

At least nowadays, thanks to widespread accessibility of alternate news sites on the Internet, via which news and views which do not originate from the western mainstream media can be circulated, people are becoming increasingly aware of the real agendas behind actions. Of particular interest is Israel having been exposed actively helping extremist Muslim terrorists fighting the Syrian government. Especially providing hospital and medical care for injured fighters. Obviously in self interest though. Zionists apparently have a long term dream of a "Greater Israel" between the Nile and Euphrates rivers. To facilitate this, first Syrian needs to be broken up into small Muslim states that fight each other rather than Israel. Then hope they can eventually be "picked off" one at a time.

However, fortunately the US led bullying in Syria in the long term interests of their own banksters, corporations and military industrial complex has been strongly and successfully challenged.

I can only guess how it will end, but I agree that the oil is the case.

i think the main goal is a regime change...Their lives have been consumed by a horrific war that has killed hundreds of thousands of Syrians and forced millions to flee their homeland in search of peace. They are going thru unspeakable horrors. Sad
