An open letter to Somalia's newly elected President, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo : Comments

By Bashir Goth, published 13/2/2017

Seize the moment Mr. President, the people desire to see you as a President whose decision doesn't come from Addis Ababa, Nairobi or elsewhere.

A heartfelt plea, let's hope those that need to listen are doing so?

An intelligent leader could usher in profound peace and prosperity, without doing very much except signing a few papers.

Lord knows the people need that chance!? And the (Molten salt thorium) energy and (new age deionization dialysis desalination) truly affordable water that will usher in a new day! Start at the coastline and work in.

All else follows!

A fine essay Mr Goth, Esquire. However:

Regarding "...the...people were ecstatic about your election....at home and everywhere in the world jumped to their feet with happiness when you were declared the winner of the election...youth flooded the social media with their excitement. Mothers expressed their delight with poetry. The excitement was overwhelming...Their proverbial patriotism kicked off and many of them have unequivocally voiced their enjoyment for the wind of change..."etc

This is all well and good, but any sky high expectations of mere, mortal, politicians, are bound to go unrealized, or be dashed. Also Somalia has some open borders with some nasty neighbours. Bad habits know no borders. Sudan is also close buy. Want some?
