The argument that Australian cities can significantly increase inner city density by replicating European housing forms is an argument for keeping newcomers out.

Try Hong Kong or Kowloon, get off the ferry as a once 6'4" person and all you see are a thousand plus black haired midgets all scurrying off to some other locale. Me, I will just settle for my 7 acres of parkland cleared bush and be damned with the hustle and bustle of urban life.

Pro devolpment verses existing establishment.
It's simple to rate-out existing residents by rezoning. Is this bit of evil called progress?
I call it crude!
Another view. If we wish to prop up our economy by flogging off the real estate, best we give Chinese what they want; high density housing in the inner city! After all, most people are unaffected by it!
