In 2008 the student-run QUT Guild's endowment lost almost 50 per cent of its net worth overnight when it attempted divestment from resource investments.

"Youthful idealism"? Youthful Marxist stupidity. Let universities divest themselves of income and go broke - they are only used to indoctrinate young morons with Marxist rubbish and treachery. Any institution that allows an Aboriginal-identifying staff member to try to persecute students because she has mental issues, as QUT did, should be razed to the ground.

Completely disagree with this myopically focused profit only oriented advocate!

It's long past time for morality to reengage the investment Landscape!

If you believe however, superior returns are linked to can't fail energy investments, you may well be right? But only if that energy investment is in cheaper than coal, thorium!

Fifties NUCLEAR TECHNOLOGY abandoned, it would seem, because it couldn't be subverted from peaceful purpose, to build a bomb or indeed, create the nuclear material to build a bomb or create plutonium!

Molten salt thorium well and truly tested over five full years 24/7! And yes, the Oak Ridge reactor, didn't light a single bulb, neither has our vastly more dangerous uranium burning Lucas Heights reactor!

Thorium is abundant and the most energy dense material we've thus far discovered. A cubic metre of soil from just about anywhere will contain around 8 grams of easily separated/recovered thorium. And the ultrasimple recovery will cost around a whole dollar!

And that one dollars worth of non-enriched and as is energy dense material enough to power my/your home and car, plus supply all your material needs for a year! And the planet's soil contains enough of this easily separated material to power the entire planet for a thousand years; and thousands more from mined igneous rock!

And the very reason why, the threatened with imminent extinction, fossil fuel and current nuclear fuel industries, don't want a bar of this CARBON FREE fuel!

And the very reason why all our student bodies need to seriously agitate for its use as a coal replacing priority! And just on the eonomic investment case on its own, regardless of the VASTLY SUPERIOR environmental/MORAL INVESTMENT argument!

It is becoming increasingly obvious as time passes, that those fairies that inhabited the bottom of the garden got lonely, after that silly little girl academic destroyed the Democrats.

Looking for new company, they have obviously settled in academia, where they can infest many of those new bright eyed, bushy tailed students, with the same failed ideology, that helped the demise of those Democrats.

Hasbeen, you have some interesting habits?

One of which has to be on all fours, down the bottom paddock, magnifying glass in hand, looking for hirsute leprechauns with strange occupations and interesting informative conversations?

What combination of (ye gads) drugs have they got you on currently and are the any unusual (holy cow) side effects?

Like hallucinations manifesting as say, (fug me) winged faeries with bushy tails and glowing eyes? And veritable suppositories of all (gold top) wisdom?

Stay calm and have a nice day.

"In 2008 the student-run QUT Guild's endowment lost almost 50 per cent of its net worth overnight when it attempted divestment from resource investments."
Sounds huge, but it was probably only a paper loss.

In 2008 the GFC hit. Shares were down because of that, so there was a capital loss. But the money would have been reinvested in shares, and the substantial capital gains since then haven't been confined to resources stocks.

And did they really attempt to divest from all resource investments? I thought it was just fossil fuels, which were subsequently outperformed by iron ore miners anyway.
