NSW's illl-considered ban on greyhound racing: the thin end of the wedge : Comments

By Brendan O'Reilly, published 11/7/2016

The Sydney Morning Herald also (separately) reported that over 250,000 healthy cats and dogs are destroyed in Australia every year because there are not enough homes for them.

I am pleased that this ban on these sort of sports has started. Those greyhounds should be bred only for pets, not for racing and tearing apart small live animals so humans can bet on the winners.

Now, if only they could get rid of horse racing, boxing and gun sports, what a better world it would be.

I can't agree Brendon, that this is an ill-considered action.

I think it has been very carefully judged to be at least somewhat vote/preference positive, & that is the sole reason for the action. Hopefully the reaction by reasonable people would see it very counter productive. I believe many will be thinking this type of stupidity will be aimed at me next, & will react as we all should.

There is a difference between wild animals and intelligent human beens. In this case the intelligent human beens have over stepped the mark.
