Brexit requires new breed of leadership : Comments

By Mal Fletcher, published 27/6/2016

The EU, which surely won’t welcome today’s outcome, should hold itself partly responsible. Time and again the EU has over-stepped the mark where national sensibilities – if not sovereignty – is concerned.

A new breed of leadership?

Well those whose only real goal is the wielding of power, would say that wouldn't they? As they focus on any and all difference? And what do they have as their ultimate goal?

Elected dictators much like Mr Putin, stuck in a unreachable past?

Yes it could be a God sent opportunity to move a system of government into the 21st century? Which could be a winner takes all, much slimmer and trimmer administration, minus an ineffectual cost adding opposition or elitist oversight?

Always providing the freedom of the press and inquisitional journalism is enshrined in irrevocable law!

The author is right to comment on the Merkel dominated EU showing arrogance over migration.

Much of the majority Leave result was about Britain retaking control of its borders, even if the largely small "l" liberal Merkel dominated EU wanted to welcome as many Muslims as possible.

So in the runup to our own Election Australians remain worried about their Borders - don't want regional/world bodies like the UN or our Greens, wanting:

- to take in more boatloads or

- Muslims from the perpetual wars of the Middle East.

Turnbull should not indulge his big money, small l liberal tendencies by welcoming to his dinner parties, those who rate Sharia Law higher than Australia's secular laws.

ASIO should now bury any (end of 2015 phonecalls to MPs) notions of Obama/Merkel political correctness, because Turnbull has had to harden up towards the Dutton line against too many Muslims coming here too fast.

Returning to the Greens the main refugee advocate, Sarah Hanson-Young, is not a Senator for South Australia but the Senator for Nauru.

Suggest people vote Greens Last.

This vote does seem to indicate that people are sick of leadership. Well what passes for leadership on the left. Leadership that becomes dictatorial is the very thing they have just voted out. Perhaps they want to design & build their own form of society, with out leaders, or betters telling them how they should live.

Perhaps they don't know how, or even what they actually do want, but it appears they resent being told by "leaders".

Lets hope the Chinese curse, "may you live in interesting times" does not come to pass too strongly for them, & us
