The Palestinian leadership…to where? : Comments

By Alon Ben-Meir, published 8/4/2016

I am writing this open letter to you because I believe that it's time for you to take a hard look at the dismal reality to which your people have been subjected for nearly seven decades, especially since 1967.

Palestinians would not take very much notice of that entreaty because they are Muslims, and Muslims never change. They have been conned into believing that the world, not just Israel, will one day be theirs, and they will continue to believe that until it happens or until there are no Muslims left. The latter is unlikely. The former could come true, given the stupidity of Western politicians, who continue to welcome Muslims to the West to breed on the welfare payments and allowances provided by Western workers, who have never been asked if they would like to finance Muslim bludgers who will one day kill them or require them to slave away for nothing in order for their Muslim masters to continue with their lives of leisure and praying. I am rarely offended, but I will make an acception in this case of someone sympathising with the plight of Palestinians who are up to their necks in hatred of the West and its values.

Alon, it takes two to tango, and a lot of what you've outlined in a letter, than will likely never be read by the intended recipients and is down to Israel who in large part are the authors of their own problems.

There was a peace process and a road map toward a two state solution; and the only Israeli leader, who showed any sincerity toward achieving that very outcome, was like other reform minded leaders, gunned down and assassinated!

Since then the illegal settlements continue to grow like Topsy, as does the squatters who claim they have divine right to occupy this patently purloined land as theirs!

Appealing (look at moi, look at moi) to the victims of these crimes might look good in print and in an international forum, but can only be counterproductive, given any verbal/gentleman's agreement with the Nethanyahu government, is not worth the paper it is written on!
