At the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meeting later this month , the elephant in the room will be the South China Sea.

The author and his Grenatec setup need to take heed that the world prices of oil and gas are very low.

Low prices means that searching and establishing new offshore oil/gas rigs in the South China Sea is probably very unprofitable and unlikely to be done even if there were no South China Sea squabbles.
