No mention from Bob Day about government sponsored negative gearing fuelling investor buying and inflating the prices.
No mention of the huge, wasteful infrastructure costs of such low density urban fringe development adding to these costs.
No mention of lack of services, public transport, social isolation etc etc.
Nothing about the impact of car dependance and the rising cost of petrol (as well as the environmental issues).
No mention of the real costs of building labour and materials going up - the costs may have stayed the same by using cheaper, poorer grade materials in the kinds of houses he's such a proponent for.
And of course just a lame denial of the damage caused by unchecked urban growth - Adelaide for example is a city that stretches 80km from North to South, taking up 3 times the land area of the city of Rome, and with only 1/3 of Rome's population!
His opposition to urban infill can only be because his own company's housing models obviously have limited/zero adaptability and/or are so lacking in aesthetics that no council would allow them to be built.
Bob Day, pull your head from the sand, its time to move on for the sake of the country.
