By Peter West, published 24/9/2015

Jarry Hayne has managed to carry the ball across the try line in the US, but the culture will require finer skills.

Didn't read the article just wanted to comment. Who gives a hoot about this guy he is a sportsman trying to breaking into another sport.
Why the endless articles about him? Says a lot about the state of the world.

"When you can dream of being such an international success, why bother learning anything at school?"

Jarryd Hayes is a far better role model than the faux, but likely real, gangsters of rap that the youth gangs follow.

There are many reasons why boys are under-achieving, but sport isn't one of them. It used to be common for males to pursue outdoor activities with sport was an option right through their education.

What boys need are statesMEN as role models and champions, but they are few on the ground these days, apparently.

Isn't it time that 'Progressivism' was outed for its failed social experiments?

Faux, but likely real? ROFLMAO. If you believe that pop stars who portray themselves as 'gangstas' bear any resemblance to actual hoodlums then you are as gullible as the thirteen year-old boys who listen to their 'music'.

As Public Enemeny said: don't believe the hype.

It's still an option, old man of sand. What is unfortunate is that for most of one's education it's compulsory. For every Jarryd Hayne there is a Brian Schmidt. Why should these young men be forced to waste time on pointless subjects that they perform poorly in when they could be taking more maths and science classes?

It depends where you look. You don't have to look very far in physics to find a few good men: the field is a complete sausage fest. Mind you, it still boasts more women than the NFL.

Aren't all those buff NFL players manly enough for you, otb? How might they achieve a greater degree of masculinity than they already possess? What does one have to do to be a real MAN instead of just a man?
