"Not that we have anything to celebrate".

There is nothing to celebrate about the 'refugee' con perpetrated by World Government (U.N) and leftist agitators intent on standing the West on its head.

It's good to be reminded, though, by Guy Hollowes that, at least, more countries are waking up to the 'refugee' scam and are ready to defend themselves from the invasion off illegal arrivals; particularly now that the description of 'refugees' is being slyly changed to mean something that it is definitely not.

How is stopping the boats "fruitless"? It is working a treat for Australia.

As for Hallowes' other "solutions" - nonsense. These over-populated countries (over- population is not a qualification for refugee status, by the way) need to do something for themselves. The West has already spent billions on them, and they have done nothing with it to solve THEIR problems. The West is not reponsible for no-hopers who don't get the message.

Oh I don't know!

I watched Q+A last night and the final question and the way it was put and ended, just hardened my resolve!

Thankfully, we now decide who we let in, and that's plenty; and indeed, something to celebrate!

Those who don't like us or here, are perfectly free to go elsewhere; or better yet, just don't apply for admission in the first place!

And a nice change from the tail wagging the dog, that used to be our refugee policy!

Rhrosty,

I hadn't looked at it that way, but yes, at the moment. Could be back to open borders when when you-know-who gets back. They never learn.

I admire your ability to watch Q&A. I gave it away long ago for many reasons, not the least of those being Tony Jones, who is one of the few people in the media who raises my blood lust.

Condemning World Carbon production is rich, coming
from a man, the pope, who won't allow contraception.

Like the billions of people in the world consuming coal for electricity to cook and
for warmth, aren't a big reason for global warming

Again the huge amount of refugees in the world, almost certainly
has a lot to do with 7billion people competing for land, food and
resources. When those things get scarce, bandit groups, warlords,
like Boko Haram and the Taliban, take their share with guns, leaving the unarmed people to flee and struggle in camps for their survival.

Again, women having education, access to contraception and power over their own bodies, would have kept the population down to at least half of 7billion.

The fault for the refugee crisis lies at the feet of male leaders
of poverty stricken countries and the warlords who just take
their share from everybody else driving them off so they can have
their possessions.

They could have spent the billions given to them by the West
in building medical centres and giving women control of their own
bodies 30years ago. But no! the male leaders would never do that.

A curse on the men in these countries, bring the women and children here, but not the men. Let them stay in the hell-holes
they created. Don't blame the developed countries because they
have successful policies. Look inward Africa,India and all muslim
countries, therein lies the cause of your problems. It's your male
attitudes to women that need to change, not Europe and the West, our way of life works for us. Maybe you should take a lesson from us.
Come out of the medieval mindset.

Until you do, you are flogging the dead horse of a past that no longer serves the world. Indeed, is causing most of the hardship
and poverty and pollution besetting the planet everywhere.

The Pope ought to realize that the injunction for the faithful to fill the whole Earth is no longer applicable and that the 'Sin of Onan' was not practicing contraception but rather not getting his widowed sister-in-law pregnant.
Onan got zapped for his greed not the act of 'spilling his seed'; he was supposed to spill it where it would continue his brother's line but he chose to hang onto his late brother's property.

How long have you had this compulsion to be a moral puritan and wag your finger at everybody else, Guy Hallowes? People with brains once laughed at moral puritans, but with the growth of tertiary education, too many humanities graduates think that they are God's gift to the human race and intellectually and morally superior to everybody else.

The idea that graduates are smarter than the Great Unwashed and morally superior to the business class induces in many humanities graduates the idea that they are the ones who are going to solve all of the world's problems. Their delusion of intellectual infallibility is a poor basis for making rational judgements, and it goes without saying that most of the proposals put by the lefty elite are simply socialist methods which have already failed.

You began by saying that there are millions of refugees and the cause is the wars in the Middle East. In that you are completely wrong. The reason why there are so many refugees is because the world's population is increasing exponentially and 100 million people are added to the world's population every year. And most of that growth is in third world and Muslim countries where they can least afford to have a growing population.

If you think that the western world can solve this problem by simply allowing anybody who wants to come into our societies to simply come, then you must not only be not real bright, you must be mad.

Q. Why did the farmer call his pet parrot "Onan"?

A. Because he spilled his seed on the ground.

Any country that accepts (or lets in) Muslim immigrants (or refugees) is asking for trouble. They come and they bring the values of Mohammed ("I am made victorious with terror") and Allah ("I will cast terror into their hearts") with them -- and we foolishly say "that is fine" and "your culture is as good as ours, maybe even better".

Yes, there are good, peaceful Muslims, but even these have no problem with the hate and violence against non-Muslims (you know, those "lower than animals")in the Quran or the evil deeds of their dear prophet (murder, looting, torture, rape and slavery are not really wrong, it only depends on who is doing it to whom).

Like it or not, most refugees come from societies steeped in failure and violence, and many bring the mores and mentality of their upbringing with them to their new homes. A nice 10-minute speech to them about the democratic ideals and values of Western societies will not change anything. An article on the beauty of multiculturalism will not impress mutilated girls, beaten women or hate-filled youth.

I can sympathize with the plight of many refugees and even welcome them, but, in my opinion, Muslims (the "best of peoples", according to the Quran") cannot live in peace with non-Muslims. Sooner or later they will start with unending demands, outrages, and of course, violence, all topped by the usual denials and excuses. We are doomed.

And yes, the refugee issue is big business and benefits many people, but not the average citizen.

As defined in the UNHCR charter on refugees:

People wanting to move country for a better life style are not refugees but illegal economic migrants.

The other night I watched a Four Corners story on the plight of Rohingans (sp) living in Burma/Myanmar. Indeed they are living a sad existence and the Buddhist citizens interviewed had zero sympathy.

In all honesty I felt very sad. Yet at the same time I was not moved in the least, to start allowing these people to settle in Australia.

Finding sanctuary for Muslim refugees should be a priority of the wealthy Muslim countries. You would think that Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Kuwait, the UAE, and Brunei would recognise the potential to import cheap labour and at the same time be doing a humanitarian deed for their religious brothers and sisters. What's stopping them?

First of all, Muslims usually prefer not to live in Islamic societies because they know who treats them better. Two, Muslim societies have no interest in helping other Muslims because it gives them an excuse for their problems. Three, Muslims fleeing to the West is in the best interest of Islamic theology and a step towards domination -- a fifth column if you will.

Yes, too bad about the Rohingyas in Burma, but the Burmese are right to consider them a threat to their future. As far as I am concerned, send them back to Bangladesh where they came from. They should be happy because they won't have to live among the evil infidels. The fact is that Muslims, in numbers, as a minority, always cause problems, whether in China, Philippines, Thailand, the UK, France, Australia, the US, etc ... Where a majority, the persecute and discriminate.

Remember, the values of Muslims are those of Mohammed and Allah, and silly concepts such as freedom of speech, conscience, equality and separation of religion and state mean nothing to them.
