By Everald Compton, published 18/6/2015

So, paying a part pension to people who have inadequate superannuation will become an extravagance that Australia can no longer afford. It will have to cease until they qualify for a full pension.

The level of wealth of many people using super to minimize tax is such that they don't give a toss about the pension, they don't need the chump change.

Meanwhile they accumulate tax free profits which, as a lump sum, they pass on upon death. There are no death duties, thanks again to conservatives.

OK, you are on that tangent but that is NOT what the OP article is about.

It is about the "little people" (and they outnumber your people 1,000 to 1)

The article ONLY speaks to stomping on the little people and does nothing to address the obvious issues of which you speak.

ie same old, same old and worse still it BLAMES (by inference) that on Keating

But I am on about the little people. They're paying for very wealthy superannuants to keep enjoying the dream run Costello gifted them.

But seeing as the OP was "chasing pennies" to deprive the genuine Age Pensioners, while talking of Keating, I am surprised he did not mention the other innovation by Keating which I estimate to have saved the taxpayer about $100 billion from 1994 to 2014.

That was of course the totally mischievous but WARRANTED "gender equality" issue which went unchecked since the small f feminist takeover of 1970 where Germaine's Army insisted on equality (as they called it) in everything.

So Keating simply called their bluff and said well you should be equal in Age Pension as well and not get an extra 5 years of Age Pension that men were not entitled to. So he did it over 20 years where Age Pension age went from 60 to 65, and Greer remained silent.
