Mark, you did not refer to the apparent new fashion of men wearing business shirts and suits, but no ties. Without exception, it makes such men look partly undressed, if not untidy.

If they wish to not wear ties, the least they could do is wear shirts with casual collars -- and preferably blazers instead of suit jackets.

Whether mad dogs or Englishmen, it makes sense for men to wear hats when they go out in the Australian sun, regardless of whether it is midday.

Raycom - I'm sure that would be a good point, if I had been aware of this trend. Now that you mention it, I have seen it.. so yes, put on ties or switch to thongs and boardies..
