Dandyism and the cult of self is well described in this article. Fashion in the hands of the commoner has dangers though, if that fashion is utilised by an unhappy stiletto wielding female, I have noticed!

So, we commercialise female bodies, why not gender issues as well?
Good money spinner for the Gallery as well. Anything can pass as art now Posted by Victor bill, Saturday, 7 February 2015 10:40:46 AM

Yes D.D., stiletto heels can be dangerous in the wrong hands!
However, a few punctured feet, would arguably reduce the attacks on young women walking home alone! And very easily done if grabbed from behind! And you'd be surprised how much permanent damage can be done with the aid of a properly wielded walking stick; including delivering an entirely unexpected, moon walking, backward facing mule kick to the testicles, and hard enough to rupture one or both, while leaning forward on your stick! And should the attacker or attackers wish to continue, well the then watering eyes are the next perfect target; given they can't see where you intend to hit them, with the eyes closed, natural poke in the eye, reflex. Don't try and run unless you've disarmed and disabled them to the point, where they can't and are marked for life with some identifying scars? Two or three kicks to the sciatic neural pathways, should disable a temporarily blinded assailant, given that effectively paralyzes the legs for up to an hour! Even then reduced to a bow legged totter toward the nearest E.R. Almost anyone can learn some self defense! However, at my age I'd prefer a small point 22, and the time to aim it! And the gut is nearly as big a target as the chest! And at virtual point blank range, the testes or sciatic neural pathway, almost impossible to miss! And if he can't see you and or pursue you, time to take of the stilettos/put the rubber tip back on the stick, and bolt! As always, when you need the police, seconds count and they're invariably minutes away, even if you are able/allowed to somehow summon them!? I'd have no compunction with the above scenario, given I was just minding my own business and had done nothing to precipitate such an attack; save being seemingly unable to, it would seem, defend myself or my property or person. Next time visiting Luna Park, a ten minute stroll along the esplanade on the north bank of the harbour, will be enriching for child and adult. Recommended to the author!
