By Jim Green, published 8/10/2014Even if strict safeguards were in place, uranium sales to India would create an intractable problem: uranium exports freeing up India's domestic reserves for weapons production.

Nuclear, globally, by replacing coal (and wood) has cleaned up plenty of pollution and prevented millions of illnesses and premature deaths and could have done much more if it wasn't for the anti-nuclear movement. We could have all been generating electricity for 70 grams of CO2 per kwh like the French since about 1990, but instead, thanks to you (and me before I woke up) we have been generating 850 grams of CO2 per kwh over the same period. I'm ashamed of my stupidity, but you just keep going. Our current climate mess is largely due to the anti-nuclear movement. Nukes crushed the oil crisis in the 70s in about 15 years while renewables were built but did bugger all ... they were built and are quietly rusting away in various parts of the US, but the nukes keep pushing out clean electricity.
Anybody wanting more about the hood winking of the environment movement can just google "GreenJacked".
