By David Leyonhjelm, published 6/10/2014

Mr Sims and the ACCC spend around $175 million a year manipulating markets as if they were playing a computer game.

Methinks Dave has it in for Mr Sims.

Seems Dave would prefer open slather market power by Gina and Biggess Clivess .

Are there any refugees from The Australian By Subscriptin to defend big business?

There is no such thing as market power.

The fact that the ACCC has done little to break the monopoly on fuel from the big players is proof to me they are toothless tigers.

A monopoly means only one player.

This means there is no monopoly on fuel by the big players.

Whatever they pay the staff at the ACCC I’m sure the govt could get away with paying them less. Not only as a reflection of the little good they do for the Australian consumer, but also by the type of person who would want to work for a government department whose raison d'être is to interfere with and control other entities. I’m guessing they would probably work there for nothing.
