There are remarkably few comments made about this article, perhaps because so few of us have read Said's book, and have no opinion.

LEGO, like me, sees the entire Muslim world as backward, intolerant, and cruel, devoted to the complete annihilation of Israel, and eventually us, and we are therefore opposed to any peace deal that would place Israel in danger. Yes, the Palestinians do have valid grievances, many with Israel, but the main cause of their continuing discomfort must surely lie with their fellow Arab states, who deliberately keep them apart, and desperate, as a cause for sympathy from the international community. It's now almost seventy years since they were initially displaced from what is now Israel, after a war that they started, and lost. The Jews displaced from Europe, and those displaced from all the Islamic countries, are not demanding the right of return, and their numbers far exceeded those of the displaced Palestinians.

David G - you're just sick. We certainly understand that you harbour an irrational hatred for America - in all your rants you have made that abundantly clear. But I, for one, can not name a country that I'd prefer as the world's superpower.
