Well what else can you say about a man so drunk with power that he thinks accolades from the Bennelong society are something to be proud of? He’s known as a bad (Labor party) joke in my community.
God knows what his own community thinks of him? Poor fellas are probably too shame to say anything. Someone please throw the towel in before he gets hurt! He’s boxing way above his own weight.Like slugger Latham he'll jump before he's pushed and then bitch about the party being dysfunctional. Yawn!

Warren Mundine was candidly being honest and now he is being labled a traitor for doing so.

Quote from Warren Mundine
"Australians who claim leadership of our people ,who wish also to preserve us as museum pieces as well as keep us locked in poverty and in socially dysfunctional communities. It keeps them in a job."

You know,we can also say this about our broader social security system. It is a self perpetuating system that has the prime function of expanding it's own empire rather than creating independant and self sufficient families and individuals. When we tax people too much real jobs become harder to find.Only the highly motivated, educated and able are allowed to work. The socialists then say the labour market has failed.Too much tax and too many handouts causes the labour market to fail.

Before every gets on the bandwagon here supporting Warren “rabbit’s hole” Mundane – be reminded that he is a self elected leader and handpicked by the Howard government to speak on Aboriginal issues and affairs through the NIC. (I call it the NO IDEAS CLUB)

Every man and his dog who knows anything about Aboriginal affairs knows that the NIC is just a bunch of bourgeoisie blacks whose social and cultural isolation from those they purport to represent is not only by their own design - but also by their lack intellectual capacity to know when they are being used as tokens. “Dance Jackie dance” calls Howard and they do it dutifully and with smiles on their faces.

Most of the ‘leaders’ Rabbit Mundane is slagging off at are people who have done the hard yards and interestingly none of them belong to the political lunatic asylum commonly known as the ‘Labor Party” . Why? Well would you join the Labor party if you were representing the interests of the most disadvantaged people in the country? And Rabbit is their national president!

His tired old cliché’s - his bumbling attempt at mimicking progressive ideologies - his inability to even comprehend the most basic of facts relating to Indigenous people - let alone a fundamental understanding of the history of social policy in Aboriginal affairs - is just pathetic.

I have no doubt that Rabbit was being honest Arjay. That he's so misinformed and off the mark is the real point of contention.

Now Rainer,Warren Mundine wants to make people like yourself free from Govt handouts and micky mouse Govt jobs.Could you please tell us what is wrong with this philosophy or are Aborigines incapable of being truly autonomous?

The traditional Aborigines of hunters and gatherers were tough, resilient, independant, resourseful, proud and we have destroyed them with grog and handouts. What is your solution?

So Arjay, what are govt handouts? Do you mean the same welfare safety nets that you and your family can rely on?
And when you talk about autonomy, be honest, is your family completely autonomous?

Arhay, why not move to a remote part of this continent with your family and give it a go? What would you do for employment? Where is the economy? Who would employ you and to do what?

And is it all just about economics? There are such things as political and legal rights that underpin any economic autonomy that Mundine and yourself fail to address in your panic to create your silver bullet solutions.

According to quotes cited in Johnstone's article, Warren Mundine cares little about losing [dearly loved] friends. I find it amazing how one can get by without a little assistance from friends every now and then. How on earth does Mundine plan to fulfill his obligations as National President of the Australian Labor Party without friends? Does he expect his enemies from within the ALP to be there to support him? I think not. I suspect that the image of a tough talking "friendless" Mundine is nothing more than an illusion designed for reasons and purposes known only to him that the rest of us [as if we have the time to] marvel at. Good on you Warren, I don't agree with your approach, but, hey, its your life. I imagine that your comments have set in motion political dynamics within the ALP that should make your term in office a most interesting one. An unfortunate aspect of Mundine's current political orientation is that it may take generations [perhaps another 200 years] before another black person gets to be President of the ALP. The Liberals will never do it. Why should they, after all, they have Warren to do the work for them? But don't lose sleep over this Warren, over the passage of time, history will show that you were the first Indigenous person to hold this office, and this is all that matters.
