For the 75% who are missing out on services, poor mental health is robbing them of opportunities to build relationships, engage in meaningful employment and establish an independent and satisfying life.

...An interesting article from Natalie Graham. Unfortunately for the mentally ill, attention to their problem from the medical professionals is prohibitively expensive. Bulk billing is unheard of, over and above the possibility that the local GP will oblige. A trip to the Psychiatrist comes with an upfront fee approaching three hundred dollars; without which, no entry!

...Effectively, people with mental illness are on their own, unless gifted with resources to pass through the “Pay-Wall” of the mental health professional.

...I think from a practical point of reality, the GP is the first and last stop for most mentally ill requiring drug therapy intervention for their mental disorder; a stop rewarded by five minutes of the GP’s time…Next please!

You are right, Natalie. There are so many worthy causes that the stupid Australian government can spend taxpayer money on instead of throwing it away on foreign aid to ungrateful nations like Indonesia.
