Sane people don't want any form of socialism - particularly after the neo-communists Rudd and Gillard, and that silly little man Shorten who thinks it makes sense to keep on blocking any change to the policies that his ratty mob were kicked out for enacting in the first place.

Is this some kind of joke?
"Although the anarchosyndicalist position is correct, it cannot be elevated into a law of nature." Of "Critics of Marx, and later the Bolsheviks, within the broader socialist movement, especially anarchosyndicalists and other anti state socialists, pointed out that a "dictatorship of the proletariat" could only amount to a dictatorship over the proletariat." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAaWvVFERVA DENNIS: I told you. We're an anarcho-syndicalist commune. We take it in turns to act as a sort of executive officer for the week. ARTHUR: Yes. DENNIS: But all the decision of that officer have to be ratified at a special biweekly meeting. ARTHUR: Yes, I see. DENNIS: By a simple majority in the case of purely internal affairs,- ARTHUR: Be quiet! DENNIS: Listen -- strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony. http://www.sacred-texts.com/neu/mphg/mphg.htm Posted by plantagenet, Monday, 18 November 2013 10:29:22 AM

Question: How does the Left reconcile having the working classes and numerous minority groups amongst its ranks? To put it another way, amongst the Left you have the "bogan" working classes on the one hand, and the gay lobby, multicultural lobby, refugee lobby, and numerous other minority lobby groups on the other hand. The two are completely incompatible. The working classes have no time for these minority groups and their constant screaming for "rights".
This is the immediate problem the Left must deal with if it wants to be taken seriously. Posted by Aristocrat, Monday, 18 November 2013 12:12:50 PM

Socialism is the opiate of the proletariat.
Socialism, fascism, communism and other populist isms are resting on the junk heap of history, having done huge damage to the economies of countries afflicted by these doctrines. The only parties to seriously espouse these failed systems are fringe parties that will probably never see real power, such as the greens trying to appeal to voters too young to remember the damage caused. That vision needs to reinstate an Australian first approach, and not the ongoing fire-sales of public property, to finance very short term and ultimately very counter productive outcomes!
It needs to embrace cooperative capitalism, as does the rest of the still thinking for themselves community.
It needs tax reform the vastly simplifies the tax collection system and simultaneously, ends avoidance.
It needs further democratization as does our highly flawed electoral system!
Instead of preferences that allow those with the smallest primary support, to "NEGOTIATE" their way into parliament, we need optional preferencing and or, a runoff between the two best performing candidates?
Which is probably the most democratic way of resolving a ballot that simply doesn't have a single clear winner.
I don't think that there is any place in a truly democratic system for Carl Marx and his ilk, who seem to condone the stealing of the blood sweat and tears and or it eventual products, from the brows and or pockets of others!
What we can and should ask for, is vastly fairer ways of ensuring those who do all the sweating receive fair rewards.
We could start with a much more generous job start, with a use by end date, which could be exchanged for the removal of unfair dismissals, which would then be no longer needed!
And a fairer tax system could pay for some trickle up economic reforms, that would benefit everyone!
