By Graham Cooke, published 8/8/2013

The question is what, if anything, can replace mining as a main driver of Australia's future growth.

<< If you are a Green, you could promote the stated wish of Bob Brown and other high profile environmentalists to adopt a totalitarian world government >>

Raycom, I ain’t a Green. I’m much greener than that mob! I actually believe in sustainability, which is about as green as you can get. The so-called Greens apparently don’t!

I used to be a member of the Greens, but I left in disgust in 1996, and I maintain that disgust.

As for a world government - it would almost certainly NOT be in the interests of sustainability in Australia.

Spindoc, you stated "I spent 30 years as VP for a multi-national corporation; we held quarterly reviews of our global management, including myself. Quite frankly, had I presented such guff as yours to my president, I would have been fired on the spot."

Well that makes you a liar!

Previous posts to me have indicated otherwise.

Perhaps you could clarify your position as to your previous employment in a little more detail.

As to the article, well to anyone with modicum of nous, it's simply a load of rubbish

The key point is to GET RIGHT AWAY from this blind pursuance of never-ending rapid growth
Ludwig,
Couldn't agree more, but how can we can that into the ego-puffed up craniums of the present Government.
How to explain to the Greens (behind the ears that is) that preventing infrastructure from being built is nothing but a senseless tactic at the expense of our future. To prevent evolution is one of the most backward mentalities one can possibly imagine yet they're hell-bent on it.
Billions being wasted on hare-brained schemes & dumbing down the potential smart yet not a cent on real education. The so-called intelligent are sending this country backing to the road of disaster. Just look at how the academics have ruined the asylum seeker situation, the greatest threat yet to this nation & yet the architects of this disaster want us to vote for them again ? Are there really still that many stupid people out there ?
