Palestine - accentuate the positive eliminate the negative : Comments

By David Singer, published 11/7/2013

In the past 18 months - as the Oslo peace process has started to disintegrate - increasing talk of a confederation between Jordan and the PLO has surfaced.

From today's Hasbarist effort:

". . .handed back to the United Nations in May 1948 with the goal of the Jewish Home unachieved"

What arrogant rubbish. Jews then had, as now, homes and homelands all round the world. Australia was and is one of them. But Jewish individuals had, and have, nothing more than equality under the law as did, and do, we goyim. That's what sticks in the craw of David Singer and his ilk. All the homelands were, and are, theirs but not theirs alone. They were not "special". Never will be except in being the usually far from willing pawns of the Zionists and other racists who focus their racism on Jews.

Anyone unfortunate enough to live in a Moslem country and be subjected to bigotry as an "infidel" could have sought refuge in a civilised country. Could have joined in the effort to make absolutely sure the civilised countries remain civilised and confront any creeps who even THINK about imposing on anyone not a free consenting adult ridiculous, oppressive special rules derived from religious cults. Writing that freedom into the constitution could be a condition to agreeing to a non-racist one-state Palestine over ALL its territory, whether Jordan wishes to join it or not. That's something the Egyptians should have thought of. So should we.

It is surprising that the author, as a person trained in science, can so caricature the process of scientific discovery, or so grievously confuse assertion with truth. His article is full of assertions, many of them implicit in choice of language:

“secular society that refuses to recognise the connection between God and truth” (Implied assertions – (1) God exists (2) a connection between God and truth is there to be recognised).

“. . .traditional ways of knowing received from others was replaced [in the Enlightenment] by the knowing of the isolated and rational self.” (Implied assertion – science progresses through individuals working in isolation - patently untrtue).

There’s more in the same vein.

Both science and the genuine knowledge-based humanities are based on, and conducted through, the integrated effort of very many people past and present. They differ from assertion-based codswallop in that the great number of minds involved are linked through evidence-based reason and rigorous debate, with the debate and the interim and final conclusions recorded for posterity.

I would identify three major traditions of monotheistic religion derived from the Judaism of the Old Testament. (1) Christianity is based on stories about Jesus, who didn’t write anything down but left his teachings to be promoted by followers according to their own spin. (2) Popery is based on a brutal, authoritarian Roman Empire one of whose dictators made a deal with people claiming to speak for Jesus. It differs from Christianity in its papal structure plus black magic as in transubstantiation. (3) Islam is based on the scribblings of a murderous paedophile who slaughtered his way through endless wars of conquest and butchery as have his followers to this day. None of the three is based on respect for evidence.

Oops wrong thread, I think not, your insights are far too relevant to say that they don't belong on this thread.

Singer is a bigot and liar, anyone who has read his article knows this and his blatant myopic view of history whether real or contemporary is extant.

I have just come home from a lovely evening, attended by many Jews, all whom despise the works of Singer, such a pity this forum allows him to spread such hatred and lies.

Interest note: Egypt has just lost positive production of its own oil fields, vis, Egypt is now reliant on foreign oil. Any interesting truncation in geo-politics, says something for the Muslim Brotherhood and recent Zionist coup instigated in Egypt.

Perhaps David can espouse his future prognosis for Israel given the unlikelihood Jordan will grant any additional water rights to the bigots in charge in Israel?

Welcome to a world the US no longer needs in its entire hegemonic dreams of global 'Pax Amerikana' David.....i.e. get ready for the real final truth verses justice that Israel has long deserved!

You Sir, are a bigot and liar, lie down with shame while you still can.

Cheers Geoff

I am still waiting for you to substantiate your following statement - which I have asked you to do on at least four or five occasions:

" The 'benefits' ex servicemen and women get in Israel is just so vastly different to what is on offer in other countries, especially when we start talking about land and housing."

Why won't you answer?

You ask:

"Perhaps David can espouse his future prognosis for Israel given the unlikelihood Jordan will grant any additional water rights to the bigots in charge in Israel?"

You might care to look at Annex II to the Jordan-Israel Peace Treaty
http://www.kinghussein.gov.jo/peacetreaty.html which deals with arrangements between Jordan and Israel in relation to water that have been in operation since 1994.

My prognosis - this co-coperation will continue when a bi-national state is created in Jordan and the West Bank.
