The real surprise in this article is that the author would find many of the trends in the survey surprising. The first greenhouse warnings were made well over 25 years old, but they arguably reached a peak in Australia in 2009 with the megadrought at its height in SE Australia. Water was very short all along the Eastern seaboard. People were easy to convince that something different was happening and that the dams would never be full again. Since then the drought has broken and the dams in NSW and Qland have filled up quite nicely.

The problem is that even average voters who are only vaguely aware of the greenhouse debate and don't hear the skeptical stuff, will remember the "dams will never be full again" forecast and know they are now full. This makes selling greenhouse warnings much tougher. In any case, many of the earlier wrnings were badly over-sold. No wonder people are switching off.

The mere fact that only one of the OLO commentariat has seen fit to respond is a good indication of the validity of your presentation. A pity really.
