Another Delta storm in a teacup : Comments

By Dilan Thampapillai, published 20/5/2013

Comedian Aamer Rahman probably took things too far by referring to Delta as 'stupid and racist'.

I found Freedman's reaction unsurprising. She's built her career on pandering to the idea that women are always the victims of male behaviour and has writtem reams and reams of fluff trying to defend the idea that women are not subject to the same standards of behaviour that apply to men and that women deserve special treatment in public and private life solely because of their gender.

I'm sure that if she was asked about her views on racism she'd express conventional "progressive" middle-class distaste, but because this is a woman being accused of being racist toward a man her zealotry is triggered and she has to try to defend the woman, resulting in this stupidly irrational rationalisation.

If Marcia Hines (a black woman), when she was a judge on one of these types of shows, had been subject to a similar type of action from a male, the egregious Miss Freedman would have been all over the offender like a rather virulent and irksome rash, telling us all what to think about it in no uncertain terms.

That's the trouble with having a knee that jerks uncontrollably, you never know when you're going to give yourself a kick up the clacker...

Well said antiseptic but I think we should all avail ourselves of this freedom. Complain about everything! I am a white male originally from the UK. My scope is endless as is just about everyone elses. Lets all keep on protesting, complain about every slight or even a slight deviation and then complain about the deviation itself!
I think it most important to complain about "racist" remarks that are not even racist then the offender will have to interminably defend himself/herself. Hey let's all victimise Mia Freedman and see how she likes it.

Nothing like attacking a celebrity to garner some personal publicity from their name and status.

There are careers in race and racism.

People who are easily offended have no business being on the internet, much less on social media.
There is no offense of "Racism", in the hands of ideological leftists it's an anachronistic anti Slavic slur which has no place in a modern society and when used by a twit like Mia Freedman or any of the other MSM gadflys who've weighed in it's merely a catty Anti White insult or an attack word, misused and misunderstood as I've explained.
The test under law would be if the intent or the photo and of Ms Goodrem's comment was to incite serious racial hatred and clearly neither went anywhere near such sentiments, the costume was clearly a tribute to Seal by a fan, Delta wished them well, that is all.
There is no "Blackface" stereotype in Australian popular culture, it's an American trope, Seal himself is of mixed Nigerian and Brazilian ancestry and was raised in London, there is no logical reason why he would be offended even if a White boy in blackface fell to one knee in front him and began belting out "Mammy".
