When Prime Minister Gillard looked to appoint an expert body to examine refugee policy, she did not look to where she might find genuine knowledge and experience.

Hasbeen , I doubt Winston Churchill had plans to bomb unarmed refugee boats carrying women and children. He was a far better man than that.

We are not at war with the refugees coming to our shores, as far as I know.

So I don't know why you always seem to be advocating that we expand and further arm our Navy to bomb the c##p out of unarmed refugee boats?

Actually Jardine it would make no difference if we withdrew from the convention because 80% of the world's refugees are in non signatory countries anyway.

But 148 nations did agree to protect all and any persons in their territory under the convention but we simply do not want to.
