Democratic deficit depends on your line of sight : Comments

By Mark Christensen, published 31/10/2012

The media consistently muddies the issue by demonising right-wing extremists rather than objectively examining the root cause of partisan paralysis.

Yuyutsu, you must be aware of the fact that most Americans are like mushrooms: they are kept in the dark by their Government and fed B.S.!

Australian's need to know as much as they can about the U.S. because the U.S., judged by its actions, is seeking global domination of the world.

Of course we don't need American indoctrination on OLO. We get enough of that from our own lapdog Government. What we need is the real story of what is going on over there.

Information Clearing House.info has many articles that deal with the truth.

OLO would do well to publish some of them.

Cheers.

Yes indeed, David G - International Clearing House is a welcome, if alarming antidote to the USA worship of our politicians and other right-wingers. As for this article, this quote points the way, perhaps: "The society we all long for is one that has faith in its individuals to see the blinding good sense of working together, rather than resorting to the machine and its grand plans to reform the human heart."
Faith in individuals, is the key, not in political parties that demand adherence to the doctrines of the [usually inglorious] leader who is beholden to 'big business' and the preferences of oddball groups in marginal electorates.
A parliament of true independents that governs by consensus would be a better form of democracy, perhaps, but the whole idea of one person, one compulsory vote is more than strange when you consider the diversity of the population.
