Kabul is full of interesting people, it’s one of the reasons people get sucked into the vortex.

Casablanca anyone?

Strangely enough there appears to be a hard core of young Western woman in Kabul - "selfless" white-collar workers - being paid obscenely high wages, all that Afghani and Western male attention due to the titillatingly unbalanced sex ratios - and constant drunken parties care of duty free, flown in, booze.

But these Western women claim to be feminists interested in the progress of Afghani woman - who, so far, can't enjoy the money, sex and booze these "idealistic" Western woman are enjoyng in Kabul.

Meanwhile, in contrast to this debauched Kabul lifestyle, Western men, not Western woman, are fighting and dieing in the rest of Afghanistan, outside the city limits of Lalaland Kabul.

...Again, more evidence the Afghanistan war is nothing at all about the Afghan people, but all about money! Shame that.

...But, on the good side, at the least bribery and corruption are out in the open; “when will they ever learn”, the finesse of the West and bury corruption and bribery deeper in their “New Democracy”, and get on board with the American way, the way of the whitewashed façade of peace, order and good Government?

Australia should withdraw today.

Afghanistan is not worth the life of even one more Australian soldier.

>>everyone is waiting for that last chopper? flight out before the city goes dark.>>

It will be especially dark for Afghan women. Outside Kabul it already is.
