The AEI is of course a key player in the USA right wing noise-machine. It also has close links with the IPA here in the land of Oz.
Furthermore Rogers writings are quite often featured in publications from other USA right wing noise-machine outfits such as the National Review, City Journal and the atrociously awful The American Spectator. None of these outfits are at all sympathetic with environmentalism. Indeed they all more or less subscribe to George Pell's description of environmentalists and the environment movement.
Meanwhile yesterday I spent a couple of hours in the Victorian State Library reading my very favorite environmental magazine: namely Resurgence Magazine http://www.resurgence.org A magazine which features articles and essays by and about people and groups who really are working from the bottom up to both regenerate the best of local cultures and practices all over the world.
Needless top say of course NONE of the people or groups will featured in Resurgence will be found attending gab-fests sponsored by the AEI or the other right wing so called conservative think(stink) tanks etc. Or in any of their publications - paper or electronic.
One person who is regularly featured in Resurgence is Paul Hawken, who among other things wrote the book Blessed Unrest, ( http://blessedunrest.com ) and thereby created a catalyst for thousands of groups, both large and small, who are quietly working from the bottom up to change things. And of course none of these groups have anything to do with Rogers corporate friends at the AEI etc.
Another author featured in Resurgence was Fritjof Capra the author of the book The Turning Point. His work can be found here: http://www.fritjofcapra.net
Another interesting organization featured in Resurgence is: http://www.marioninstitute.org
All of which is to say that Roger (and his corporate friends) is/are very much part of the problem.
