A great author review Kees.

Sounds like Cheever painfully generated the themes of his works in ways he wished he wasn't. Goes to show most great authors have fairly tragic lives.

I looked up Cheever's works on the net. His short story 'The Swimmer' is online in full http://shortstoryclassics.50megs.com/cheeverswimmer.html .

What an excellent review. Hope Forum readers will get to read more reviews by Kees. I'm going to have to scour the Dutch broadsheets for some of Kees' other articles.

Thanks for the link Pete.
