By Ordan Andreevski, published 21/3/2012

Giving Greeks fleeing the Eurozone special entry rights would be unfair to other more deserving immigrants.

A good point is made here. I wonder whether the Australian/Greek push joins in the vilification of so-called 'economic refugees' who attempt the perilous journey by boat from Indonesia?

And the Irish are whining that the visas are too complicated.

We have over 600,000 Australians unemployed that we refuse to help, why should we help out those from other western nations while continuing to jail and torture refugees from two wars we started and pretending they are unworthy of our help.

Agreed, why discriminate? We run an immigration policy, not a service for temporary economic migrants. It's also debatable whether the Australian economy really needs a mass immigration policy.

You fail to state what constitutes “special working visas” that are lacking in “merit non positive discrimination”.

Are the number of Australian working visas that are currently granted to the raft of individual nations, equal in numbers?

It seems your paper is without merit.

Not sure where the author is coming from, he appearing to be a supporter of Macedonian recognition, and the same time protecting the Australian immigration against Greek economic refugees.
My social studies teacher would most probably comment "Nice try but not good enough"
