Direct Employment practices the belief that the people being supported are, more often than not, the best teachers regarding the support they need and how it can be delivered.

I fully agree with PeterG. The Direct Employment scheme that was piloted by DHS Vic opens up many opportunities for the disabled & their carers. DHS was brave & innovative. Service providers should be ashamed of themselves about the funding they squander! I wonder how many iPad 2s, MacBook Pros & iPhones fill the sumptuous offices of Service Providers.
