NO Tony Abbott is playing his own card.
Tony Abbott rules out democracy when admitting he would NOT abide by decisions made by the Australian people.
Australian Governments and politicians - such as Tony Abbott, merely believe in applying the Himmler principle - when they tell a lie loud enough, long enough, most people come to believe it is true.
Ignorance is something Tony Abbott uses very well to benefit Tony Abbott.
Australian politicians are opportunists, sensing and grasping opportunities to benefit themselves.
Even from playing the race card, look at most government forms.
Do you answer Australian Government's racial identification question ?
Ignored consistently is Australian People's amendment to their constitution in 1967.
Ignored is Australian people's clearly acknowledged purpose to make unlawful ALL qualification of our rights and responsibilities using racial identification.
Ignoring this Australian Governments pass, enforce, legislation which qualifies Australian's rights, Australian's responsibilities through racial identification.
Policitians: BUT we do it different now !
Perhaps BUT results remain same...
