As the article mentions, poor dental care leads to problems with teeth, such as cavities … we all know this. There is also a direct link between dental care (swallowing the bacteria, caused by rotting teeth, in saliva) and heart disease. This has been known for some time so I am encouraged that the government is funding a program to improve access to dental care – it will save money in the longer term
