On World Anti-Whaling Day it's worth thinking about how far we've come and how far we have to go.

I don't like the idea of killing whales or ANY animal...but..it so happens that we eat meat... and the Koreans eat dog meat and the Japanese eat whale meat..

WHO THE HELL told these environmental terrorists they have some kind of divine mandate (it would seem they believe this) to stop fellow human beings from pursuing the type of meat they like?

There is MUCH more to the ideology behind 'save the whales' and it get's very close to militant hinduism...with a good mix of communism.

Piriot, I think your teacher may have been an early activist, using reverse phycology on you. I can’t imagine that would have been a very pretty sight. Of course, even then, ours was a more primitive society.

I have watched some reasonably, but not all that primitive people kill livestock, & had trouble not walking away.

Of course we can get too civilised. One of my kids loved milk, but could not drink our milk, because she knew the cow & goats it had come from. For her it had to be “make believe milk”, from the supermarket.
