Greeks are not rude, just more human.

david f. I can only agree.
The real shame is that the same thing is now happening to England, USA and us. "Who needs facts when you have God" is a very scary attitude, but very common. Science and rationality (honour) are under attack.
I found it funny that a local "Greek" found his countrymen almost unbearable on a visit: Close, but disturbingly different.
It seems local Aussie Greek has diverged somewhat from Greek Greek in only a generation or two. Culture is a funny thing.

I thought multicultural Australia had a sence of humor? OH well, back to the drawing board.

Smile.

Culture does have a sense of humour.
And here's proof:

A Greek and a Scotsman were sitting in
a coffee bar discussing who had the
superior culture.

Over several Turkish coffees the Greek guy
says:

"Well we Greeks built the parthenon," and
arched his eyebrows.

The Scotsman rubbed his beard and replied,

"Well, it was the Scots who discovered the
Summer and Winter Solstices."

The Greek nonplussed retorts,

"We Greeks gave birth to advanced mathematics."

The Scotsman, nodding in agreement says,

"Scots were the ones who built the first timepieces
and calendars."

And so it went, until the Greek finally comes up
with what he thinks will end the discussion.
With a flourish of finality he says,

"The Greeks were the ones who invented sex!"

There's silence for a few seconds, then the Scotsman
smiles and replies,

"Aye, that is true.
But it was the Scots who introduced it to women!"

Oh foxy you old fox. That joke has a surprisingly close proximity to real past events along the streets of my Sydney side coffee shops and the hussle and bussle of city life.

But heres a true and qutie accrate joke from the homeland of the mighty.

What does a scotman have under his kilt?

A BIG MACK !

BooM,BooM!

And why do woman talk so much.

Rodney was reading the morning newspaper when he came upon a study
that said women use more words than men.

Excited to prove to his wife, Cathy, his long-held contention that
women in general, and Cathy in particular, talked too much, he
showed her the study results.

Rodney read the report to Cathy, "Men use about 15,000 words per
day, but women use 30,000."

Cathy thought awhile, then finally she said to him, "It's because
we have to repeat everything we say."

Rodney said, "What?"

BooM,BooM.

Dear TTM,

Nothing like a bit of humour
to lighten things up a bit
and heaven knows - we need it
at present - with what's going
on in Canberra, and elsewhere.

So, Thanks - I've added yours
to my list. They're great!
